$1,250.00 Chinese fan painting of a stand of bamboo growing near a group of moss-covered rocks. A poem written in the upper right hand corner says: 细竹千竿満地 which translates as "A thousand stalks of slender bamboo cover the ground". The seal is a bit hard to make out but appears to read: 鄭 Zhèng.
That character seems to also appear towards the end of the text.
The next character after it and in the seal is 名 (míng, 'name'). In the text, the last 2 characters are 学 (xué, 'study') and...

The original poem was written around 1201 when he was 76 and describes local delicacies from the area where he grew up. The fan is signed on the lower left side by 魏惟一 Wèi Wéiyī and seal: 惟一Wéiyī. The old poem translates as the following:
Shanyin was once known as Little Penglai... Tea leaf buds... Shoots of herbs... Foxnuts, "shiny pearls," carried by a hundred boats ...

SOLD An antique Japanese rare tall Tansu with 7 drawers made of Kirinoki (Paulownia) wood. Also known as a Chobako, it was used by a merchant to store his business records and small valuables. A rare feature is the original custom built hinged door that was made for a left handed merchant allowing the door to easily open from right to left with the left hand. All original hand forged iron hardware. A secret hidden box can be accessed behind one of the drawers.
