It is as if drifts of snow have piled up on the garden stones, leaving dark recesses filled with shadow in the low winter light, a fabulous Tsubo by Kimura Morinobu enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Kuroji Kakewake Hakuyu Tsubo. It is 26 cm (10-1/4 inches) tall, 25.5 cm (10 inches) diameter and in excellent condition. This is one style for which Morinobu is very well known and unique to him.

$700.00 This plaque must have been part of a scholar's screen. It is carved in a Duan stone of 2 layers of different colors. An ochre layer and a brown layer. The brown layer is carved in depth until the ochre layer appears. The decoration is thus cut in brown on an ochre background.Qing period 19° century or earlier. On the reverse side we can see the traces of the tool which should give indications for a more precise dating.
