It is a very rare piece from excavation.
Made of the characteristic soapstone 布丁石 or 滑石 of the dated Tang periods, the item was made in shape by imitating the Persian ware which was affluent in that periods.
Two Similar porcelain pieces were found in the famous Idemitsu Museum出光美術館 of Japan and The Asian Art Museum of San Francisco.

Date:Tang Dynasty, 8th-9th centuries.

The style of the furniture and its quality suggest that it is an important wealthy family of the 18th century, without however being of the imperial family because the dragons represented on the dress have only 4 claws. The face is admirably painted, the artist played with the light to give us this living-dead head and yet it is beautiful without anything macabre. China circa 1800...
