A very rare portrait of the highest ranking official in the Emperor's court. This is based on the rank badge of the crane and the red hat. The painting is very intricate with a lot of gold work. Massive scrolled late Qing dynasty Chinese ancestor portrait executed in ink and color on paper depicting a civil official and his two wives. The official is dressed in formal attire and is seated on an armchair draped with a tiger skin. A Mandarin rank badge showing the official’s rank in the civil bureaucracy is on the center front of his cobalt-blue surcoat. The long tail appears to designate the bird as a paradise flycatcher, indicating an official of the 9th rank...

A small porcelain water coupe with Langyao red glaze (郎红釉）finish on the body, light green glaze (苹果绿釉） on inside the body and inside the foot rim. 18th century. The water coupe is in excellent condition - just some scratches on the glaze. Diameter: 2-5/8".

An intricately painted 19th Century or earlier Tibetan thangka featuring a wrathful black diety. It is loaded with imagery that depicts several intense scenes from floating skeletons to animals and humans being trampled. This antique thangka was used and has been consecrated or blessed. Large 19th Century or earlier Chinese Tibetan thanka. Bordered with silk brocade, the thangka has a cloth backing In excellent antique condition, the thanka as pictured measures 31 inches across x 44" long. The actual thanka measures 20" across x 29" long.

Chinese hanging scroll ink rubbing of an ancient stone carving featuring Quan Yin. Rubbing dates early 2oth century. Rubbings of ancient stone carvings are illegal in China as the process damages the stone. In very good condition, the rubbing measures 39.5 inches x 21 inches. Scroll measures 30" x 56" and comes in a bamboo container.
